My Story

Hi Guys, Valerie Garvey Minogue and Rachel Moran here. We are 3rd year Nursing students in TUS Athlone. We are so excited to get the opportunity to go to Uganda with the Nurture Africa programme to volunteer this summer. 
As part of the programme we will be visiting schools to provide educational community healthcare workshops with primary and secondary school children, and providing basic healthcare services including nutritional advice and support. We will be working in vaccination clinics to provide vaccines to children against Malaria, TB, Measles, and other diseases. We will also be providing pregnancy care services and education around family planning along with postnatal care for mother and baby.

We are so grateful to get the chance to do this, but we will need a little help as our goal is to raise €2500 each. The Nurture Africa Organisation was founded by an Irishman in 2003 and has had a huge impact on education and healthcare in Uganda.
